A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about Waterside Market’s sister restaurant in Falmouth, Parkside Restaurant. Cleverly named since it is across the street from the park on Main Street in Falmouth. This great new addition to the Falmouth dining scene is open for business. Offering the perfect place to grab breakfast or lunch, Parkside Market is open from 8 – 4 p.m. daily.
The location is great, there’s lots of parking across the street, and the space is cozy, smaller than Waterside. The Parkside Market logo is cool and keeping with the park theme, there’s a shade of green on the wall that I find relaxing and welcoming. This green is a color from co-owner Susan Bowen’s childhood.
I love that Susan and Stephen are not afraid of bold color. I guess the fact that they opened a third eatery shows that they have no fear. With Waterside Market and Blue Canoe on Martha’s Vineyard already successful, I am certain that Parkside Market will succeed too. The Bowens’ are going to be quite busy for 2013.
Same Great Menu
For those of you who love Waterside Market on Martha’s Vineyard, good news — there are a lot of similarities between the two. Parkside serves Stumptown Coffee, has the same favorite menu items like the CAB, which is chicken, avocado, and bacon with melted cheddar and ranch on ciabatta or my other fav, the French Quarter, with roast beef, brie, horseradish aioli, lettuce, and tomato (I skip the onion), and you’ll be able to grab one of those delicious chocolate chunk cookies anytime. One always seems to follow me home whenever I go to Waterside.
Also, Parkside will be serving house roasted meats just like they do at Waterside. If you’ve ever wondered, that’s why the roast beef and turkey is so darn good, and of course organic greens are used.
So, on your next off-island excursion, stop by Parkside Market, say hi, and grab a bite to eat. I have heard great things about it already. In the meantime, those of us on the Vineyard can just head to Vineyard Haven and take care of that craving for a CAB. I should probably eat lunch before I write about food.
