Designed around a stunning integration of indoor and outdoor living spaces, this grand estate at Herring Creek Farm includes a magnificent infinity pool with outdoor lounge areas and kitchen, suites with outdoor showers and private gardens, and luxurious amenities and modern design throughout.
Designed by noted architect Patrick Ahearn with interior design and architecture by David Lentz Design, the property is at once, both Vineyard coastal classic and decidedly contemporary. Much of the Main House wraps around the large pool and patio area, with hallways of glass doors and windows.
The rest of the house has similar glass hallways that wrap around an entry courtyard. Some areas are framed by both, including the Dining Room, Kitchen, and Living Room -- which has an entire wall of glass panels that fold open to the pool area. The sleek monochromatic shading of greys, whites and browns extends throughout, along with vaulted ceilings, custom shutters, dramatic artwork, and built-in digital movie and music systems both indoors and out. In a house full of exquisite, thoughtful design, perhaps one of the most unique features is found in the five Bedroom Suites.
In addition to fireplaces, lounge areas, deluxe media centers, bathrooms with steam bath rain showers and double vanities, all the suites have their own private, walled gardens with outdoor showers and lounge areas. Some even have outdoor soaking tubs.
The connected Carriage House wing is great for kids with two separate sleeping areas, connected by a common play/hangout space with media center, video games, and seating. For the adults, there is a Billiards/Game Room and a well-equipped Fitness Room.
Outdoor life centers around the spectacular pool. It s a 25x50-foot, heated, black Pebble Tec pool, with a raised black granite infinity edge on all four sides. Depths run from 3 to 7-feet and there is an ankle-deep platform in one corner for smaller children. The grand outdoor space also includes a 12-foot spa, extensive stone patio, multiple lounge and dining areas, plus a fully-equipped outdoor kitchen with grill, cooktops, refrigerators, dishwashers, ice-maker, and pergola.
Crackatuxet Cove is at the water's edge of the property, and is ideal for kayaking. The private association sandy beach on the south shore is nearby. There are communal storage sheds at the beach with beach gear in them.
