Some of our favorite Martha’s Vineyard businesses are beginning to open their doors for the 2020 season. With each one, we can see what our summer season in this new era will begin to look like. We’re highlighting our local businesses and lifestyle in our new support-the-island drive we’re calling We Love MV – West Tisbury Farmer’s Market Returns
WE LOVE MV – The West Tisbury Farmer’s Market Returns With A New Home
The West Tisbury Farmer’s Market, Rain or Shine Since 1974.…..this year, the West Tisbury Farmer’s Market is slated to open on June 13th in its new home, the Ag Hall. In this new, temporary home, there will be a significant amount of space for vendors to allow for social distancing guidelines. Vendors will be about 10 – 12 feet apart, a much great distance than alotted at the Grange Hall.
The market will feel a little different for this season, but you will still be able to get many of your Island favorites in addition to new delectable local eats like Cottage City Oysters and scallops from Martha Rose. Also, the farmers/artists participating in the farmer’s market are being encouraged to create e-commerce opportunities for purchasing their goods.
“Really looking forward to being a part of the West Tisbury Farmer’s Market and the ability to bring fresh seafood from our farm to the community. The farmer’s market has always been one of our favorite stops for local produce, and when looking for new, more sanitary ways of distributing food, outdoor farmer’s markets can provide single-source food distribution, fresh air, the ability to distance, while maintaining cleanliness and temperature control,” says Cottage City Oysters co-owner, Dan Martino.
