With many of our favorite Island businesses closed or working with reduced hours, there is something you can do to help, and it’s easy. It’s part of our new support-the-island drive we’re calling “We Love MV.”
The Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank is sponsoring a website where you can purchase gift certificates to Island businesses, Lift Certificates, ” Buy today to Save Tomorrow”.
We Love MV: Helping Martha’s Vineyard Businesses with LIFT Gift Certificates
You can purchase a Lift Certificate for a variety of places and services. Here are just a few examples: State Road/Beach Road, Life at Humphrey’s, Lucky Hanks, Black Sheep, Nomans, Vineyard Complimentary Medicine, Sea Spa Salon, Rainy Day, The Green Room, and Stefanie Wolf Designs, Larry’s Tackle, and many, many more!
Buying a Lift Certificate helps keep a local business in business during these uncertain times. Some of these businesses are open currently, but many are waiting to open their doors. It is a way to support and continue to provide hope for our small business owners.
You can use the Lift certificates today or in the future. An added bonus for you besides feeling good? Many of the businesses are offering discounts with the Lift Certificate. For example, a $100 Lift Certificate to Nomans can be purchased for $80. That’s a $20 savings for something you know you’ll use (and have fun doing so)!
Remember those restaurants and businesses that helped shape your Summer memories, or donated to your cause? This is a way to say thank you. This is a way to support our business community. Thank you Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank for offering this our local businesses.

What happens if a business doesn’t survive this and we buy a gift card through this? Same as if we bought it anywhere else?
Hi Lindsay,
I looked on the MV Savings Bank page and did not find an answer to that. However, I hope that these businesses are able to pull through and honor the gift certificates.
Stay safe and thanks for reading the On Point MV blog.
Best,
Guinevere
