It’s the week before Valentine’s Day, and perhaps you’re struggling for ideas. For some, this is “Hallmark” holiday time, full of fluff. For others, this day is taken very seriously, and is a day to revere the ones you love.
For me, I enjoy this sweet little holiday. It’s a reason to smother the people I love with extra kisses and indulge them with a little gift or two.
For one business on Island, Tracker Home Decor, in Edgartown, this is a week for Local Love. Owners John Murphy and Helen Koch are pulling out the stops to have a weekend of spreading a little joy.
Not every girl or guy wants something pretty for themselves, some may covet something new and beautiful for their home, and Tracker can help.
Get On Track With A Little Fun
To help make shopping even more enjoyable, on Friday, February 13th, Tracker is hosting a cocktail party. From 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., you can enjoy cocktails and yummy bites while you shop.
To sweeten the event, the store will be 30% off, and there’s so much more than furniture. Also, Team Tracker is having a couple of prize drawings. So, you could walk away with a surprise, like a stunning orchid from Of The Vine.
You might just be surprised at all the fun things you can find at Tracker. How about a cashmere wrap, handmade paper products, bedding and so much more.
Think about how great it would feel to refresh your house — add a little color, a statement piece perhaps. You can even find the anchor that is featured in the Martha’s Vineyard HGTV Dream House there!
Maybe you’re busy on Friday night? Maybe lunch is a more appealing concept for you. You’re in luck.
On Saturday, Valentine’s Day, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Art Cliff food truck will be at Tracker. The fabulous Gina Stanley is taking over the parking lot and providing lunch. Food is on the house, but there will be a jar for donations for Island charities. I think I would really enjoy a little Art Cliff magic this time of year.
Not only can you find some one-of-a-kind gifts for either you or someone you love, but 10% of the events’ proceeds go to Hospice of MV, the Martha’s Vineyard Museum, and Martha’s Vineyard Community Services.
Good food, fabulous finds, supporting a local business and local charities, all in one weekend! That’s Local Love!
More About Tracker
Tracker Home Decor opened in 2010. John and Helen both brought their extensive knowledge of design and retail to create one of the most amazing home decor shops in New England. The store is full of so much character.
Everywhere you look, there’s something that is sure to catch your eye. Not only is it full of beautiful things but the store is open year round and employs eight full-time employees. That’s a lot of Islander jobs!
Tracker is more than a home decor store. You can get window treatments, interior design services, and don’t forget about their work room where you can get custom upholstery and more done.
In addition to the major lines like LEE, John Robshaw, Peacock Alley Fine Linens, LAFCO, and more, you’ll find some local artists work at the shop, including lifelike resin cast fish from Steve Sjogren.
You can also find placemats and paper from Carnegie Blair Designs Inc. Carnegie Blair’s light, whimsical, detailed collections are the creation of two very talented ladies who have worked together on the Vineyard for years – Linda Carnegie, a faux painter and colorist, and Nancy Blair, an interior designer and painter.
If you are a fan of flowers, then you will most likely fall in love with Of The Vine. Local florist and gardener, Justin LaVigne is well known for his plants and floral arrangements. He has a way with all things green, and his creations can be found at Tracker.
Also an interesting local tie is that with Summer resident, Mary Ella Gabler. She is the founder of the luxury linen line, Peacock Alley. Tracker has quite the selection of their heavenly bedding. I’ve loved that line since the days of working at Vineyard Decorators many, many years ago.
This is the weekend to go to Tracker, support shopping local and share a little love. If you plan to attend the events at Tracker, no need to worry about parking.
Tracker is offering a shuttle from the Edgartown Police Department. Tracker is located at 89 Pease’s Point Way South, Edgartown – so it’s very close to the police station.
You can learn more about Tracker Home Decor on Facebook. And speaking of social media, don’t forget to “Like” us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter, Linked In, Google+, Pinterest and Youtube.
We’d love your vote for Best Real Estate Company for Best of the Vineyard 2015!
Hope the food truck plans to have hot cocoa and red velvet whoopie pies on Saturday.
That’s a good idea – perhaps Gina will come through on that request!!
Thanks Scott and Happy Valentine’s Day!
This seems like a quaint little place! And the fact that they are so charitable makes it even better!
