On Wednesday night, Point B Realty co-hosted the Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours with the Martha’s Vineyard Museum.
It was here, we premiered our newest bear for the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite and began the always popular naming contest.
This new, bigger-than-me bear is so sweet and soft, a definite crowd favorite. The bear spent the evening enjoying hugs and oohs and aahs from business owners.
I never tire of seeing how much happiness these bears bring to people of all ages. We set up a jar for people to but their name suggestions in, and people put a lot of thought into the names they chose.
Naming Of The 2014 Bear
Here are the top five names from the event: OB (Oak Bluffs), Butterscotch, Mr. Pease, Lucy (Vincent), and Caramel.

We’ll be tallying up the votes until Friday, November 21st. I can’t wait to see what the name is. This is one of my favorite parts of the Teddy Bear Suite.
Teddy Bear Suite: New Hours & Location
Think it’s too early to talk teddies? Well, it’s not, because this year, the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite opens on Thanksgiving Day!
Yes, it will be open daily until December 28th. Sunday through Thursday, the Teddy Bear Suite will be 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Now if you’re not here the weekend of Christmas in Edgartown, you don’t have to worry. You can come visit again and again.
How can this be? Well, the bears are lucky to have their very own cottage this year at the Harbor View Hotel. One of the Captain’s Cottages will be their home.
We’ll be decorating the Captain Rowley Cottage, inside and out, in holiday splendor. This year the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite will truly be even more magical then ever before.
This bigger space allows for the bears to do a lot more in helping raise money for the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club. There is no admission price to visit the bears, but we do hope that you’ll consider making a donation to the club while there, no matter how big or small. Our fundraising goal this year is $12,000.
So mark your calendars and get ready for the most amazing Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite! What a way to celebrate our fourth year of making holiday memories. In addition to its new home, there are going to be a number of fun teddy bear inspired events happening at the cottage and at the Harbor View Hotel.
