From 10 AM to 12 PM on Saturday, October 26th come and meet the Misty herd, decorate your own pumpkin, join in family-friendly games and activities, or enjoy this inspiring property with a cup of hot cider — all ages welcome, and parking-lot access available for those with mobility needs. Entry is free; donations of any amount towards the non-profit are much appreciated.

In May of 1994, a group of dedicated Vineyarders embarked on a mission to New Hampshire to dismantle a historic 1905 dairy barn and bring it back to Martha’s Vineyard. Hundreds of Islanders worked together to rebuild the barn that became the beloved West Tisbury Agricultural Hall we know today. Each year, the Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society hosts this remarkable community barn-raising in celebration with dancing at the annual Barn Raisers Ball, a cherished event featuring famed island band Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish.

This year’s Barn Raisers Ball takes place on Saturday, November 2nd, from 7 PM to 10 PM. The evening is a BYOB affair and showcases a potluck dessert table, where neighbors and friends come together to share sweet treats. For the second year in a row, the festivities will also include Barn Raisers Day, earlier in the day on Saturday. Kids of all ages are invited to build their own miniature agricultural halls, using materials like candy, cardboard, Legos, and more.
