The rain let up just in time for the Christmas in Edgartown parade — and yes, that is event co-chair Guinevere Cramer with me, as we got the Point B Realty Woody (1989 Grand Wagoner for those of you asking) ready to roll with the boys and girls from the MV Boys & Girls Club.
We borrowed Edgar, our giant teddy bear, from The Teddy Bear Suite, to ride with some of the kids in the jeep. And our whole entourage was led by our live bear, brought to very-animated, high-fiving life by Chris, one of the Boys & Girls Club children.
Main street in Edgartown was jammed with onlookers as we wound our way through town, and then back to The Teddy Bear Suite at the Harbor View Hotel — which took first place in the parade with its Edgartown Lighthouse float (now parked outside the hotel.
The Teddy Bear Suite is open for visitors — and we’ve seen a lot of kids of all ages — through Sunday at 3 pm. Lots and lots of people are taking some very fun pictures at the Teddy Bear Suite. We’ve shared some of ours, let us see some of yours or other shots of the parade.
Remember, if you can’t make it down for the festivities, you can support the MV Boys & Girls Club After School Program with online donations as well.
