This Tuesday, May 5th is Giving Tuesday Now! It is a day to unite and show the power of generosity during these uncertain times. As part of our new support-the-island drive that we call We Love MV, we invite you to join us for Giving Tuesday Support The Island Food Pantry.
Join Us For Giving Tuesday Support The Island Food Pantry
Now more than ever, the Island Food Pantry needs your support. Typically, the IFP sees its greatest need in February, with a shift going into the warmer, busier months on the Island. However, since COVID-19, the organization has seen a steady increase in need, and it’s resources are stretched too thin.
- In April, the Island Food Pantry provided food to 810 Island families — over 2,000 Islanders, including 519 kids and 162 seniors
- They delivered 70,000 pounds of food to the Pantry
- Their attendance numbers doubled from March
We Love MV: Helping The Martha’s Vineyard Community By Donating to the Island Food Pantry
Our goal is to raise at least $12,000 by Giving Tuesday Now, May 5th. To do this, we’ve set up a Facebook Fundraiser (above). The number of people in need continues to grow each week, and with many businesses remaining closed, there will be more people signing up. With this ever-increasing need for the most basic of needs, food, we wanted to help share their call for help.
Join us in supporting the Island Food Pantry for Giving Tuesday Now, May 5th. With your help, we hope to raise $12,000 through our Facebook fundraiser. That $12,000 will equal almost $85,000+ worth of food! Together, we can fight hunger on Martha’s Vineyard. Click here to donate today!
#GivingTuesdayNow is a new global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 – in addition to the regularly scheduled Dec 1, 2020 #GivingTuesday – as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.
