We do get some snow. It does get cold enough to the freeze some of the ponds (periodically, like Duarte’s Pond, above, in West Tisbury). But the social hub of island life in the off-season, shifts over to the Martha’s Vineyard Ice Arena. It’s an essential stop on our Vineyard Bucket List.

At The Arena, which is located mid-island, next door to the YMCA, the ice is alway well groomed and solid, and conditions are not subject to the weather. It’s our only indoor skating pick and by far, consistently the most fun. More information here.
