It’s the most wonderful time of the year, the Island is decorated in holiday cheer, and at the Captain Rowley Cottage is full of everyone’s favorite teddy bears. The Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite opens its doors today.
The teddy bear suite is decorated in true holiday splendor. With twinkling lights and hundred of bears donning festive attire, this magical event has become an important part of the holiday tradition on Martha’s Vineyard.
Open through December 23rd, the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite is the perfect place to celebrate the magic of the season. With a cottage full of holiday fun, children of all ages can’t help but fall in love with the hundreds of bears, including now five, larger than life bears, Edgar, Chappy, TisBeary, Obie and our newest newest addition to join the sloth of bears (yes that’s what a group of bears is actually called), Lambert!
Here, you can cuddle and play with all the bears, big and small, read bear themed stories, marvel in the different personalities of each fuzzy friend, and enjoy this very special place.

A Beary Good CauseWe invite you and your loved ones to celebrate the wonder of the season at the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite, a place where holiday memories are made. Since the bears are ready for visitors all month long, come more than once!
The teddy bear suite is more than a wonderland, it’s also a fundraiser for the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club’s After School Program. This vital program offers over 400 Island children the chance to have a safe, fun place to go after school.
Each child’s family only pays $20 for the entire school year. With such an affordable fee, there is a large amount of money needed to fund the program. If visiting the suite, know that any donation given, big or small goest directly to the club.
We have a big fundraising goal this year ($15,000), and the Club is depending on the teddy bears for help. If you’d like to help support the Club and make an online donation to the teddy bear suite, click here. We have $1,000.00 raised so far, only $14,000.00 to go!
Take a break from shopping and celebrating Shop Small Saturday at the teddy bear suite, and on Saturday, November 28th, in honor of the Teddy Bear Suite, guests of all ages can enjoy a viewing of “Paddington” in the Harbor View Hotel’s Menemsha Room from 4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. With popcorn and refreshments served, it is a welcome, family friendly event.
