Lucky Hank's Restaurant Opens In Edgartown Martha's Vineyard Newest Dining Spot

Lucky Hank’s Restaurant is open for business. With an intimate opening party Friday night, the first dinner service on Saturday, and now as of Sunday, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, almost every day of the week (open Tuesday – Sunday).  A welcomed addition to Edgartown, this warm, cozy restaurant is sure to be a success.

Love The Sign At Lucky Hank's Restaurant In Edgartown When you first see Lucky Hank’s, you can’t help but think how cute it is.  An old home on Upper Main Street (just past Dairy Queen and Stop and Shop), converted into a restaurant, it seems to have a soul.  This place is special.

Perhaps part of the reason is because all of the support owner, Doug Smith, got from so many people.  He really feels “lucky,” and knows he and his team are going to provide a great experience for his guests.

Interesting Outdoor Seating At Lucky Hank's In EdgartownI have to talk about the fabulous outdoor dining space.  Though it has a covered roof, the sides are open.  Worried about the chilly weather?  Not to fear, there’s an outdoor heater and shawls for guests to wear on their shoulders or laps.

Yes, Doug has thought of everything.  I like the idea of sitting in the cool, crisp air enjoying an amazing meatloaf or something else that warms you up.

At the opening party, guests were lucky enough to sample some of chef Daniel Finger’s culinary treats.  Daniel’s menu is full of classic comfort favorites and some dishes with a personal twist.  For this chef, it’s about good local food and good people.  He’s had a passion for cooking since he was 15 — hooked at an early age, just like Doug.

Lucky Hank's Lobster Roll Yummy Treat At Edgartown's Newest RestaurantThough I was not able to try everything that Chef Daniel made, I was able to taste a couple of his signature dishes, including his lobster roll, which has a perfectly buttered, toasted roll and is topped with Chef Daniel Finger At Lucky Hank's Restaurant Martha's Vineyardfresh herbs. Also, the chicken salad with walnuts and cranberries and just the right amount of house made herb mayo.

Notice a trend with the herbs here?  Chef loves using a lot of fresh herbs from Morning Glory Farm in his dishes.  Fresh and local ingredients make Lucky Hank’s menu, though modest in quantity of items, extraordinary in quality.

Lucky Hank's Cod Cakes In Edgartown - Check Out The Menu On FacebookI also tried the cod cakes made with fresh cod, and what separates them from the rest, is the lobster tartar served with them.  The Diver scallops with parsnip puree and parsnip chips were my favorite.  The mild parsnips with the scallops are a nice pairing,

Breakfast At Lucky Hank’s Restaurant

Happy Servers At Lucky Hank's Too!Wondering about breakfast? Doug will have those fluffy pancakes he’d mentioned before to me, and you can “make them extra special” by adding blueberries, chocolate chips or homemade granola.  There are lots of breakfast items on the menu, a number of great classics and fun new combination.

Now that Lucky Hank’s is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and there’s lots of parking (rare in Edgartown), no reason not to give this cozy hot-spot a try.  Also, if you want to know a little more about Doug and the reason behind the name, check out Lucky Hank’s – Upper Main Street Edgartown Just Got A Little More Fun.

  1. Fabulous fare at Lucky Hank’s! From soup (an award-winning to be chunky clam chowder, big enough to share) to nuts (nutty, that is, about today’s special dessert – Spanish hot chocolate – like a warm panache), Everything we ate was scrumptious!

    1. So glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for sharing your experience with us!! I am going to need to try that dessert. It seems as though dessert might be a surprise every night with Danny.

  2. The menu sounds very good. I had the chance to enjoy Dany cooking and would enjoy tasting cod cakes and parsnip puree at Lucky Hank’s.

Avec tous nos voeux de réussite.
