A Slice of Edgartown – Take Out Pizza In The Heart Of Downtown

Slice of Edgartown Pizza In Edgartown Martha's Vineyard Pizza

Last week when I was desparately trying to find a parking spot so I could make Point B’s weekly meeting, something interesting caught my eye — even more interesting than the family walking around in matching yellow Crocs (yuck).

There was a cute little red sign tucked in the corner of the back of the building that houses a number of stores including NRO and NRO Kids and MacPhail’s Corner Cafe on Dock Street.  It said “Slice of Edgartown“.  Oh wow I thought, what a location for a pizza place.  Still wondering where it is?  It faces the parking lot across the street from the Kelley House.  Sadly it was closed at 9:50 am, but I knew I had to go back to find out more.

That's a big pizza box!So, Wednesday night I braved Edgartown traffic, just to find out what I’ve been missing.  A Slice of Edgartown is simple and straight forward, it’s pizza.  Want it by the slice?  You can choose from cheese or pepperoni. Want a whole pie, you gots lots of topping options like sausage, mushrooms, onions, etc.  The pizza is “New York” style and a whole pie is larger than your standard pizzas found on MV.  Just check out the size of the box in the photo.

MacPhail's Corner Cafe, right behind it is Slice Of EdgartownSlice of Edgartown is open 11am-11pm everyday.  Wondering how you missed it?  Don’t feel bad, they’ve only been opened since the fourth of July weekend, and it will be open until the second or third week of September.

A Slice of Edgartown pizza is made by the folks who own MacPhail’s Corner Cafe. The chef/owner Bryan MacPhail is a trained chef.  He studied at the French Culinary Institute in Manhattan.  With this in mind, and if you’ve ever had one of his delicious lobster rolls from the cafe, one can safely say that the pizza is darn good.

Why would someone with this type of background decide to venture into making pizza?  Well, while attending school in NYC, Bryan ate a lot of pizza because that was what he could afford to eat, and he became pretty particular about his pies.  He’s taken what he enjoyed about those pizzas and is serving up his own and loving it!  He is passionate about creating pizza that will satisfy novice pizza enthusiasts and true pizza connoisseurs alike.

Choice of toppings at Slice Of Pizza EdgartownI think it’s great that you can grab a slice and go.  Pizza is always good – it’s affordable, usually everyone likes a good pizza, and sometimes you just want something quick.  The Quarterdeck was the only place really geared just to take-out in downtown Edgartown, but now we’ve got options my friends, which is always good.  If you want a piece now, stop by or order a whole pie, 508.627.7641

Also, since it’s open until 11 pm, it’s perfect for a late night snack after a hard day of play!
