There’s Even More To Do This Year At The Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite

It’s beginning to feel a lot like…..Christmas in Edgartown! And that means it’s going to be time for the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite.

The wait has almost been, unBEARable! The hundreds of bears are taking a break from hibernation to head over to their home for the holidays, Suite 201, at the Harbor View Hotel.

Celebrating it’s third year, Point B Realty’s Teddy Bear Suite is even bigger and more magical. With three big bears, Edgar, Chappy, and now TisBeary, and more fuzzy friends and holiday surprises, this year is going to be even more BEARY and merry.

Teddy Bear Story Hour With Mrs. Claus

After the Christmas parade, your first stop should be the Chilmark Room at 11:30 a.m. at the Harbor View Hotel. With Santa so busy with so many commitments this weekend, Mrs. Claus has decided to celebrate the Teddy Bear Suite with us.

We can’t wait to see her. I don’t know about you, but it’s been years since I’ve seen Santa’s other half.

On Saturday, December 14th, join Island Theatre Workshop  for the Teddy Bear Story Hour with Mrs. Claus.

Mrs. Claus will be spinning enchanting teddy bear stories that will delight kids, young and old, with Workshop actors in storybook- themed costumes to help animate the fun.

Children are encouraged to bring their own special bear to participate in the stories, since there are no books, just the wonderful, clever tales from Mrs. Claus (the talented Lee Fierro).

Imagine how excited your child will be to have their favorite bear go on a story adventure with Mrs. Claus. There will be cookies and cocoa to help you warm up from the parade.

And when Teddy Bear Story Hour with Mrs. Claus is over, plan to come to the Teddy Bear Suite which opens after story hour, and the big bears have a chance to return from the parade and get the Teddy Bear Suite ready for visitors. Teddy Bear Suite Calendar of Events

Capture The Joy Of The Holidays

The Teddy Bear Suite is a place where holiday memories are made. With teddy bears galore and joyously decorated for the holidays, it’s the perfect place to capture the magic of the season with a picture or two.

However, most of us seem to miss that amazing picture or don’t have the right lighting to really capture the moment

So, this year, noted Martha’s Vineyard event and portrait photographer David Welch is joining us at the Teddy Bear Suite on Sunday, December 15th from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. to take pictures for you.  This way, you don’t have to worry about missing that shot, he’ll take it for you.

David is the father of two, so he knows how to work with kids, and he could not be more excited to be part of the Teddy Bear Suite. After all, it’s one of his daughter Camden’s favorite events of Christmas in Edgartown. She can’t wait to visit the bears again!

For this event, there is a suggested donation of $10 which includes one high resolution download. Other professionally printed picture options will also be available.

The Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite is a enchanting event where holiday memories are made. However, the Teddy Beat Suite does even more than give us a weekend of joy. It is a month long fundraiser for the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club’s After School Program.

The After School Program serves hundreds of Island children. It gives them a safe, fun place to go after school.

Here they can do their homework with the help of tudors or play basketball with friends, do art, have a snack and more. With only a cost of only $20 for the school year per child, it is so affordable, but there’s a lot of money that has to raised to make this possible.

Please help support the After School Program  and our Island children and families when visiting the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite. Admission is free.

We want everyone to be able to experience the magic of this holiday event but donations are welcome. The doors open this Friday at the Harbor View Hotel during Christmas in Edgartown.

If you can’t visit the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite during Christmas in Edgartown, you can still help us make our holiday fundraising goal of $10,000.

All the money raised goes directly to support the amazing Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club After School Program which serves hundreds of Island children and their families.

Most of the money from our annual Teddy Bear Suite fundraising drive is donated online. We have already raised more than $2,000 and to help make our goal of $10,000 this year, Point B is matching 50-cents for every dollar raised online. Click here to here to donate.
